Ethiqly was founded on the legacy of our founders' grandmother, a teacher who defied the oppressive laws of Apartheid-era South Africa to ensure that every child had the opportunity to develop their voice through critical thinking and writing. Her unwavering commitment to equity, inclusion, and the power of human expression deeply influences our mission.

During the Apartheid era, she risked her freedom to secretly tutor children who were denied these opportunities due to racist policies. Her courage and dedication to empowering others through writing and critical thinking serve as the foundation of Ethiqly.ai.

Ethiqly continues her legacy by promoting equity, inclusion, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to express themselves through writing. Over 18 months, we engaged with educators, students, parents, and administrators to understand the diverse needs of all students, including those who are often underrepresented. We believe that writing is more than a skill—it is a vital form of human expression. By helping students develop their writing abilities, we empower them to find and communicate their unique voices, cultivating the critical thinking skills essential for success.
